Bruce and Marilyn were commended to the Lords Work in 1980 to help in a practical and spiritual work in Zambia by: Applewood Hills, Mississauga; Yorkshire St., Guelph; Valens; Chapman Valley (1991); and Milton (2010); Gospel Halls in Ontario, Canada. With the Lords help our work has involved maintenance on the assembly mission hospital station, helping in the assembly work, support work, school and literature work. We served at Chitokoloki for nine years and have lived at Kalene since 1989. The Lord blessed us with three sons, two living in Canada and one in Tanzania. Since 1992 a Flight Service was started with the aim to support the missionaries in this country, flying missionaries (3.5 hours) to and from Lusaka for furlough, short term workers, school flights, medical emergencies, and times away to rest. Our 2 planes, a Cesena 207 and 182 have flown over 11,000 hours in our 25.5 years. Since our re location to Lusaka July 2018 we have the use of a hangar at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport. Beginning of term flights for Sakeji were completed plus transporting of a surgeon and anesthesiologist to Chit returning with two children who needed to be admitted to the cancer hospital along with their parents. In Lusaka we run two guest houses, one full catering and one self catering mainly for the assembly missionaries and other evangelicals. The location half way between the International airport and Lusaka central is ideal. We average over 1,700 bed night uses per year. Bruce shares the Word of God by giving calendars and Via Magazines in the government offices and staff at the International airport. Time is spent, serving others up country such as taking in equipment for repairs, visiting banks and taking funds to a mission station. We feel honored and privileged to be involved in what the Lord has put to our hand. Please pray for the Assemblies in the Lusaka area, for growth and stability. There are four English speaking assemblies in Lusaka each with caring capable oversight. There are many in the vernacular languages as well. We are part of the Great East Road Gospel Hall which has over 350 in fellowship. Please also pray for safety of flight, and salvation for the hangar workers Bruce is now working with.
