My name is Exel Jácome Vera, and I would like to briefly share my salvation experience and the work the Lord is doing in this region of the country. I was born in the municipality of González Sur, in the department of Cesar, Colombia, on April 24, 1972, into a Catholic family with a rather chaotic lifestyle. From childhood, I witnessed alcohol, music, and constant parties in my home, and it was around the age of 10 that I first heard the gospel. However, it wasn’t until September 10, 1991, that the Lord saved me.

Between 2010 and 2014, I had the opportunity to travel to Venezuela to learn more about the word of the Lord and attend church there. While my family was still in Valledupar, I visited them regularly  until January 2014, when I returned permanently and began sharing the gospel with my family. That same year, we received visits from brothers and sisters with a good reputation and well-known in Colombia, such as Brother Gelson Villegas and his wife, the Batioja family, and the Lugo family, who helped with preaching meetings.

In 2015, we began receiving visits from Brother José Gregorio Yepez and his family, who dedicated considerable time and effort to the work here, until on December 16, 2018, an assembly was formed in this city, gathered in the name of the Lord. In March 2024, I was commissioned to the Lord’s work, and since then, by the grace of the Lord, we have continued working here in Valledupar. There is much work to be done in this city and the surrounding area. In 2025, we had the opportunity to visit and hold activities in a municipality in southern La Guajira called San Juan del Cesar, about 50 km away. We pray that the Lord continues to help us, and we ask His beloved people for their prayers for us and for this region of the country.
