We rejoice in the Lord’s blessing in Cornwall, and in his planting of a local assembly here in 2018. Since then, he has graciously added to our number, and counting those in fellowship and their children, there are now over 30 of us. We outgrew our rented storefront just before the pandemic, and our final gospel supper held there saw over 90 of us crammed into 800 square feet. Our prayer ever since had been to be able to purchase a suitable building for the assembly. After two years, the Lord opened the door for us to purchase a former furniture store showroom. The building and its location are a real answer to prayer as it is large enough to accommodate further growth, it is close to where several who have attended in the past live, and it is on a busy street with good visibility. It is also beside a community college and is walking distance from a large complex currently housing new refugee claimants. There are plenty of opportunities for gospel work!
We have been meeting in our new building since August 2022 and have seen some of our unsaved contacts back out for the first time since before the pandemic. We would appreciate ongoing prayer for wisdom and the Lord’s help as we seek to connect with more of the neighborhood around the building through various outreach efforts. We also thank the Lord for his gracious provisions through his people towards the costs of the purchase. Gifts of fellowship received through the building fund go in their entirety towards paying off loans that facilitated our down payment and then towards the principle on the mortgage.
